The Record has been Beaten!!

The Belly Buster challenge, the 2.5 pound burger with bacon, cheese and all the fixings.

The previous record was held by MT Bellies own Joe (the animal) Labenski coming in at just over 13 minutes.

This record was crushed by no one other than Furious Pete Czerwinski, who may just be the worlds greatest competitive eater. He finished in just over 10 minutes, and said he was feeling kind of slow!

That's a wrap folks... thanks for another enjoyable and memorable year (heck -
we killed the Poolmaster!!!)... playoff pick sheets were sent via email
yesterday and are also available at the bar - same rules as regular season, e.g.
submit picks one hour before start of first game each week.  Scoring for
playoffs is as follows:

Round 1 Wild Card Weekend - 2 points each correct game
Round 2 Divisional Finals - 5 points
Round 3 Conference Champ - 7 points
Super Bowl - 9 points

Year-end payouts will be handed out during the Pool Wrap-up party during the
AFC/NFC Conference Championship games on January 23 - weekly prizes can be
claimed anytime.

Da Boss turns 50!

During the month of July, MTB proprietor John Clark turned 50 years young. Friends from Victoria, Calgary and various parts of Ontario teamed up with all the usual local suspects at M.T.Bellies to celebrate. When asked about his milestone celebration, this is what he had to say.

“I am grateful to have so many friends and family gather at one time to share this day with me. I am certain that my mission in my life is putting people together. I was put here, on this planet to bring people together. I am flattered and proud to know that I have been the catalysts for so many new friendships. I love my friends and family. I am a lucky guy. Sharing experiences is what life is all about.”

World Cup actiion is alive and well at MTB. The doors open at 10 am for service and the Steak and Eggs Breakie. On Monday, a sea of orange shirts invaded our little joint, to join us for a 7:30 breakfast and to cheer on their native land. Holland downed Denmark 2 -nil to a much delighted crowd. Mr. Steven Harper, The Prime Minister was here at MT Bellies on October 9th 2009. We fed the Prime Minister of Canada. He enjoyed his lunch of a Philly Steak Wrap (hence the new menu item Stevie Cheese Steak Wrapper) and then took time to sign his chair and pose for a few photo ops.
